Newborn Care

nights with newborn baby

As a Newborn Care Specialist – previously called a “baby nurse”, or referred to as a maternity or nursery nurse, I’ve been expertly trained as an in-home child care provider specializing in the first 12 to 16 weeks of a baby’s life. I offer personalized support to families with newborns through overnight, 24/7, rotational and travel care.

Enjoy the newborn phase without being sleep deprived with trustworthy, nurturing and education backed newborn care.

If you’re expecting your first baby, multiples, or just need a hand while traveling with a newborn, I’m here to support you. From discussing recommendations for feeding, to creating developmentally based sleep training schedules, you’ll feel empowered to navigate the days ahead.

This is Judy’s calling, and it showed every night she was in our home. We always felt our twins were in wonderful hands, and Judy’s love for them showed.

  • A postpartum doula is most similar to a newborn care specialist as there are some areas that overlap but there are also some differences. A postpartum doula focuses on the care and well-being of the newborn and the family. They work with the baby but also offer breastfeeding support, mother care, and household assistance (sometimes even sibling care too).

An NCS focuses primarily on newborn care and parental education. They work independently with only minimal guidance from the parents. Most NCS are hired overnight or 24/7 support.
